Blessing Our New Home

As most of you know, we bought our new home in February of 2021 and we finally broke ground in December! It has been quite the wait, however it’s going to be so worth it! They’re saying it should be all done and ready to close this summer and we are SO excited! I actually bought our current house in the summer of 2018 after years of renting. I waited so long because I thought I was going to meet someone and didn’t want to be completely settled somewhere when or if that happened. Even though it was 3 years after my divorce and I still had not met anyone, I ended up finding this cute little home that I knew would be perfect for me. I had to buy it! I made an offer and it was accepted. I got all moved in, decorated it the way I wanted, had my perfect little beauty room all set up, and exactly 3 weeks later met my husband. Little did I know that my cute little beauty room was going to end up being our daughter’s nursery. I could cry happy tears just thinking about how God has truly blessed my life throughout the last couple of years.

That being said, things moved along quickly for me and Dan. We were engaged and married in 2019 and got our Frenchie, Vinny, in December of 19 and then got pregnant with our daughter, Raleigh in the spring of 2020. Life has moved fast, but all I can say is when you know, you just know! With both of us working from home and my mom visiting often, we have quickly outgrown our current home.

We decided to start looking for homes after Raleigh was born, and knew we found the right one. We had to make a quick decision, but we’re so happy we did! It has been a very easy process and can’t wait to move in.

Our good friend who also married us, George Prieto, wrote a special prayer for us to bless our new home a few weeks back. Dan and I went on a Sunday after church and wrote our favorite Bible verses and other meaningful quotes also mixed in with some humor around our new home. It was such a special day and one that we will remember forever. I listed out everything we did for inspiration to others. Please feel free to use anything we used in addition to the beautiful prayer that was written for us. It would make us so happy to pass any and all of these blessings on to others.

Our prayer to bless our home

Heavenly Father, we stand before you today with hearts that are overflowing with gratitude. You’ve given us blessings beyond our wildest dreams- life, love, family, health, and now this new place to call home.

We ask that these walls would always be filled with your presence and praise- your protection and your providence. We ask that in this home you would draw us closer to each other and, most importantly, closer to you.

May this be a place where we find joy, strength, peace, and purpose. May it be filled with more life, love, and laughter than we ever thought imaginable. May it be a place that people sense the warmth of your love and kindness. May you be the King over our hearts and over this home.

We are forever thankful- for we believe the best days are yet to come. We love you, and dedicate this home to You, In Jesus’ Holy and Mighty Name, Amen.
