Our Love Story & Engagement Day Details!

The Story Begins:

Dan and I met last summer at a Luke Bryan concert totally by coincidence. I love country music and always go to country concerts with my friend Austin. He happened to be out of town for this one, so I asked my friend Sarah if I could tag along with her and her friends. I was so tired that day, and almost didn’t go, but ended up pulling it together at the last minute and arriving a little late. I didn’t really notice who was even there with her until we were walking back to our cars at the end of the night, but it didn’t take me long to notice Dan in the group. We talked among other friends for maybe all of 10 minutes, and I quickly knew I wanted to get to know him better. Exactly three weeks later, we went on our first date and the rest is history. We talked for hours and hours that night..so much that we went to dinner and neither of us took more than a couple bites of our food. Ha! I knew that night our paths crossed for a reason and that God had a big plan in store for us. We have spent every waking moment together for the last eight months and both know that we have truly found our soulmate in each other. I can’t wait to marry my best friend and feel like the luckiest girl in the world that God gave him to me.

We went to look at rings back in December, so that we both could get an idea for what I liked. It was such a fun day that we will both never forget! I knew at that time that the engagement was coming, but had no idea when or what he would do. I honestly thought we would go out to dinner and he would ask to take my pic for an Instagram post and then he would pop the question that way. Haha! Well, I couldn’t have been further off from what he had in store.

Fast forward to Saturday, February 9th. My mom came in town the day before per her usual trip down here to come for a visit and we decided to go to brunch on Saturday morning. I was dying to take her to Noble Crust in St. Pete and let her try the most amazing egg sandwich and lemon ricotta pancakes known to man haha! Dan got up early that morning to go to the gym and “run a few errands”. As I was getting ready to go to brunch, 5 of my best friends showed up at my house and surprised me BIG TIME! My mom quickly came in my room with all of us and handed me a card from Dan. It was hands down the sweetest card I’ve ever read in my entire life. He let me know how much I mean to him and that he wanted me to be able to soak in the entire day, so that it would be a memory I would cherish forever. {I still had no idea what was in store at this point} My friends made me put on a dress (I wanted to wear jeans of course lol!), and we quickly walked out to the party bus Dan rented for all of us for the day. Another super fun surprise! My mom, my besties and I headed to On Swann for brunch which was incredible. We then loaded back up onto the party bus to head to our next destination. About an hour later (bc the driver got lost lol), we all stepped off the bus to my biggest surprise ever! We were at our church and I was in shock. Dan arranged weeks ago to reserve the sanctuary so that he could propose in the place that is nearest and dearest to my heart. I walked in the lobby to see his parents, and other close family and friends. They quickly ushered me into the sanctuary where Dan was waiting for me. He said that he only remembered to say about half of what he planned and I don’t remember much of what he said to me haha! However, I will never forget how I felt in that moment and how bright God’s love was shining down on us. Our dear friends Mark and Laura Beverlin were there with us to capture some of the sweetest moments of our life and we are forever grateful to them.

Afterward, we all boarded the bus and went to The Canopy in Downtown St. Pete for a rooftop party with about 25 of our closest friends and family. It was hands down the best day of our lives to date, and we can’t wait to tie the knot this October in Asheville, NC. Yay!! Stay tuned for more wedding details as we go.

Lastly, a huge thank you to all of our family and friends who have loved and supported us and made this magical day happen for us. It took a village and we love you all!

XOXO,

Christian & Dan
