First Trimester Bumpdate

10 weeks pregnant
12 weeks pregnant

I’m officially out of the first trimester, praise Jesus haha! It has been the biggest secret to keep for so long now. We found out we were pregnant right around 3.5-4 weeks, which was so early. Having been pregnant before (we miscarried in February), I feel very in tune with my body, so right when I started to feel a little funny, I knew the reason why immediately. I had actually gone to have bloodwork done that same day because I didn’t think I was ovulating after the miscarriage. I wanted to make sure everything was ok, even though my doctor felt like everything was in fact ok. I got home from my bloodwork that morning, ate a HUGE lunch and that afternoon started to feel super bloated and nauseous. Dan looked over at me (I must have looked weird to him or something haha) and asked if I was ok. I said well I think I’m pregnant. He kind of laughed it off like oh wouldn’t that be so funny if you just had them run all those tests and you’re actually pregnant. I knew I was at that point but waited until the next morning to take the test. Sure enough, 2 positive tests later, I was definitely pregnant! Dan was on a conference call so I waited until he was off his call before I rushed into his office to tell him the news. It was a fun day! I immediately called my doctor back to let them know that I got a positive test, and they saw me right away. They ran some more bloodwork to test my progesterone, which came back normal. The next appointments followed at 7 weeks and then 11 weeks.

Waiting it out during those appointments was tough for sure. Having miscarried before, it’s hard not to worry something could happen again, but I trusted in God and He always seemed to give me a sign that everything was ok. Mostly in the form of nausea haha, but I always knew that if I was feeling sick, the baby was growing and all was okay. Sea bands and Preggie Pops saved my life for many weeks. I never actually threw up, but felt like I was going to from the time I woke up until the second I went to sleep. I’m so glad that’s over!

There were other signs too that baby was okay, and I always either felt or saw them. A couple coincidences worth noting was that we found out we were pregnant on National Prayer Day. How awesome is that?! Our big 11 week appointment, which I was incredibly nervous for was on the same date that Dan and I met just 2 years ago. Also, pretty awesome! I knew those were 2 signs from God saying, don’t worry, trust me, this is the baby that’s meant to be for you and Dan.

HELLO SECOND TRIMESTER! I am officially 14 weeks today and thankful the nausea isn’t nearly as bad as it was. Everyone says you get a boost of energy during the 2nd tri but I haven’t yet lol! I’m not and never have been a napper, but find myself closing my eyes around 3pm everyday sometimes for 2 hours! It’s the funniest thing to me. At least I don’t feel sick anymore, so I’ll take it! I still want to eat fruit all.the.time. I’ve always liked kiwis and strawberries, but they’ve been a must eat daily for me, along with watermelon and cantaloupe. All of that has never tasted so delicious haha! I’m getting tons of messages saying that girls make you crave fruit, so who knows. I’ve always had a sweet tooth, but baby has made it even stronger. Thank goodness Wright’s isn’t that far away from us. I couldn’t even tell you how many Alpine cupcakes I’ve eaten lol! We’ll find out the gender in about 6 weeks or so, but for now just enjoying knowing that baby is healthy and growing is all that matters. More updates to come!

14 weeks pregnant

XOXO, Christian
