As many of you guys know, Dan and I have been talking about getting a puppy for some time now. We dog sat our friends Labradoodle for a week and he was so much fun! We really enjoyed having him, and for being 10 months old, he was well behaved, but of course had tons of energy! Ha! That dog needed to run and play for a while each day. With our busy schedules, we still made time for it, but quickly realized our life at the moment does not suit having a dog with tons of energy. Dan really wants a big dog that is protective like a Boxer or German Shepherd. I think it’s so sweet that he wants to know I would be ok if something happened and he wasn’t home. While I love them and would seriously have 100 dogs if I could, I know I am particularly OCD about our home. I like it to be spotless almost always haha! I think all the shedding and dirt being brought in would drive me nuts. I feel like I am the type of person that likes smaller, low energy, low maintenance dogs. Basically a lap dog that just wants to cuddle. I’ve had both big and small dogs and really feel like I gravitate toward the smaller ones for all the reasons above. At this point, we really can’t come to an agreement, which we are both okay with. It’s actually funny bc I feel like we are 2 of the most agreeable people ever and we can’t agree on this one thing. That’s real life for ya though! What it really boils down to for the most part is that we have soooo much going on this year with our wedding, our friends’ weddings and a couple trips in between that we do agree on is that the timing isn’t great to have a puppy to care for at this point. We’ll continue to research breeds to find out what the best fit for us both is when the time comes. It’s so exciting to think about!! XOXO, Christian
